WatchThe business
Credo designs high-speed connectivity solutions — notably its Active Electrical Cables and SerDes technology — that move data efficiently inside and between AI data centres. As compute clusters scale, the cost and power of moving data become a bottleneck, and Credo sells into exactly that need with a capital-light, fabless model.
The flywheel
AI infrastructure spending drives demand for faster, more power-efficient connectivity; design wins with hyperscalers build reference credibility that wins the next customer; scale funds the next generation of technology ahead of competitors. The loop is earlier and narrower than our core holdings, but the secular tailwind is powerful.
Why we own it
- Direct, capital-light exposure to AI data-centre build-out.
- Power-efficiency advantage in a power-constrained industry.
- Hyperscaler design wins that compound into reference credibility.
- Fabless model keeps the balance sheet light and returns high.
Key risks
- Customer concentration among a handful of hyperscalers.
- Semiconductors are cyclical and competitively intense.
- Early-stage moat that must still prove its durability.
Our recommendation
A promising picks-and-shovels flywheel on the AI build-out, but earlier and higher-variance. We hold it on the watchlist and size it modestly until the moat proves durable.
